JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government noted that the number of findings of the Omicron variant from local transmission is now approaching the findings of imported cases or transmissions carried by foreign travelers (PPLN).

"This is approaching. Previously, it was dominated by imported cases," said Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 28.

Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Health Office as of Thursday, January 27, Omicron cases reached 2,404 cases, namely imported cases (PPLN) reaching 1,309 cases or 54.5 percent and local transmission cases (non-PPLN) reaching 1,095 cases or 45.5 percent.

This data is very different from Tuesday, January 25, whose composition is still dominated by PPLN reaching 1,166 cases or 68.7 percent and local transmission 531 cases or 31.3 percent.

Meanwhile, daily positive cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, January 27 reached 229 from PPLN or 5.5 percent and as many as 3,920 cases by non-PPLN.

DKI recorded active positive cases both being treated and isolated reaching 1,540 cases from PPLN or 9.1 percent and 15,451 cases from non PPLN or 90.9 percent.

Observing the spike in Omicron cases, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government asked residents to continue implementing health protocols, including wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, reducing mobility and reducing crowds.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued Governor Decree (Kepgub) Number 59 of 2022 concerning PPKM level two.

Meanwhile, the essential sector operates with a capacity of 50 to 75 percent and the critical sector a maximum of 100 percent of capacity.

"If possible, work from home with regulated limits, which are essential, general, regular, but wherever possible, those who can work at home are done at home," said Riza.
