SURABAYA - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya, East Java, Armuji invited a young entrepreneur nicknamed Crazy Rich to buy cooking oil in a market operation held by the local city government in Dukuh Pakis District.

"Alhamdulillah, my friends Tom Liwafa and Steven bought all the cooking oil, but later distributed it to all the mothers so there is no need to buy it. But don't take it twice later," said Deputy Guardian (Wawli) Armuji during a market operation in the Gunungsari Village Courtyard, Dukuh Fern Surabaya quoted by Antara, Friday, January 28.

Armuji said the Surabaya City Government through the Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Trade Service (Dinkopumdag) continued to intensify market operations, especially to anticipate the scarcity and increase in cooking oil prices.

According to Armuji, the price per liter of cooking oil is set at Rp. 14 thousand. This price is far from the market price which still touches Rp. 19 thousand to Rp. 22 thousand. Market operations in Surabaya will be held in 9 sub-districts until January 28.

The market operation on Friday was held at three points in the Dukuh Pakis sub-district. The three points are the Gunungsari Village yard, the RW 4 Hall of West Kupang Hamlet, and the Pakis Hamlet Village.

"The total amount of cooking oil provided in market operations is 3 tons or 3,000 packages of 1 liter," he said.

He said this market operation was held to maintain price stability according to the direction of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia.

In line with Armuji, Tom Liwafa is very pleased with Armuji's leadership style, which is adaptive and sensitive to community conditions.

"We are grateful to be given the space to share with the residents, Cak Ji as Deputy Mayor of Surabaya is also responsive and sensitive to the conditions of the residents," said Tom.

The market operations this time took place in an orderly and smooth manner, each person was only allowed to bring 2 liters of cooking oil by showing the original Surabaya ID card.
