SEMARANG - Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician Ganjar Pranowo encouraged all cadres to help accelerate the national mutual cooperation program to build quality family villages (KKB). The issue of stunting is still one of the influential factors.

"We will try to reduce stunting so that all cadres move, so we in the government are asked to move," said Ganjar Pranowo after sowing fish seeds in Jatibarang Reservoir, Semarang, Thursday, January 27.

Together with Hendrar Prihadi and Hevearita Gunaryanto Rahayu as well as a number of PDIP figures from Semarang and Central Java, Ganjar participated in activities that were held virtual simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

As a cadre who carries out duties in the local government, Ganjar Pranowo also continues to encourage his citizens to have a high awareness of detecting stunting from an early age.

"We who are in the government are asked to move. So that we will create mutual cooperation villages for them to detect early so that stunting does not occur," said Ganjar, who is also the Governor of Central Java.

The fish seeds that were distributed were assistance from PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Earlier we spread the fish seeds from Mrs. Mega, with the hope that one day this will be able to be caught, enjoyed and distributed to those in need," he said.

The event was also attended by the Chairperson of the PDIP Central Executive Board, Puan Maharani virtually. Ganjar said stunting prevention cannot be separated from the importance of maintaining the nutritional intake of pregnant women.

"This (fish) is a source of nutrition, so we hope that pregnant women will maintain their nutritional intake," said the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

The cadres, Ganjar continued, are also expected to work together to help the program launched by the government regarding this issue. In Central Java, for example, there is the Central Java Gayeng Nginceng Wong Meteng program.

"If Mrs. Puan delivered her speech that fish is cheap, easy to get, all the time, and that it has very good nutrition," he said.

Ganjar Pranowo said spreading fish seeds is one of the most strategic ways to prevent stunting. Ganjar, whose name is prominent in various presidential election surveys, asked cadres to also pay attention to pregnant women in their environment, especially so that their nutrition is adequate.
