No Longer Has The Status Of A Capital City, DKI Immediately Makes Plans To Become A Global Scale Business Center

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta is preparing the Regional Development Plan (RPD) for 2023-2026 as a global economic and business center after it will no longer be the State Capital.

"The relocation of the National Capital will cause Jakarta to play a sole role as a global economic and business center," said DKI Assistant for Economics and Finance Sri Haryati in a seminar related to governance at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday 27 January.

According to him, the preparation of the 2023-2026 RPD is also to support the continuation of development programs in Jakarta after the terms of office of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor of DKI Ahmad Riza Patria end in October 2022.

He explained that the 2023-2026 RPD is expected to answer the challenges in supporting DKI Jakarta's position after it is no longer the State Capital, namely as a global-scale economic and business center that competes with world metropolitan cities.

In addition, answering the needs needed to be able to compete with other global cities in terms of government, human resources, infrastructure and resource management to finance development and encourage the economy to grow more rapidly.

"Jakarta's future vision is not only to continue what already exists, but how can Jakarta be in the orbit of the world's metropolitan cities," he added, quoted from Antara.

For this reason, he continued, the DKI Provincial Government opened a space with experts and experts and all parties to prepare routes to cities on a global scale.

In the seminar with the theme of format and governance to support Jakarta's role as a global economic and business center, DKI Jakarta presented an expert from the Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN), Prof. Dr. Djohermansyah Djohan and a political expert, Prof. Dr. Siti Zuhro.
