72-year-old Man Found Dead, Police Say Victim Has Diabetes

TANGERANG REGENCY - Liem Nji Toen (72) was found dead in his rented house in the Cikupa area, Tangerang Regency. Liem's body was found after local residents smelled an unpleasant odor at his residence.

The Tangerang Regency Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho, said the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 25, at 17.00 WIB. He also suspects that the victim died of diabetes.

"There were no signs of violence. According to residents, the person concerned has diabetes. So it is suspected that he died of illness," said Zain when contacted, Wednesday, January 26.

Zain explained that the incident began with two witnesses, Anom Noviand (24) and Zaenal Arifin (21) who happened to pass by the victim's rented house. At that time, the two witnesses smelled an unpleasant odor in Liem's residence.

"Calling the victim repeatedly didn't come out, that's why it was checked. When I entered, it turned out that the victim had died," he said.

Knowing the incident, the two witnesses reported to Saepudin (37), and then proceeded to the police. Not long after, the victim was immediately taken to the Balajara Hospital for a post-mortem to reveal Liem's death.

"Take it to the Balaraja Hospital, (the victim) has not found any signs of violence," he said.
