JAKARTA - The case of hate speech with the reported party Edy Mulyadi is entering a new phase, entering the investigation stage. The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters has sent a summons to Edy Mulyadi and several other witnesses to be questioned on Friday, January 28.

"A summons has been made to brother EM as a witness and several other people to attend on Friday, January 28, 2022," said Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, explaining Wednesday, January 26.

Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan explained that during the investigation process, the Criminal Investigation Unit had examined 15 witnesses and 5 expert witnesses. Bareskrim has also withdrawn all reports about Edy to the National Police Headquarters.

The results of the case are concluded. This case was agreed to be raised to an investigation status.

"We repeat that the hate speech case committed by brother EM has been upgraded from investigation to investigation," continued Brigadier General Ahmad.

"And today has also sent a letter of notification of the start of the investigation or SPDP to the Attorney General's Office," he continued.

Edy was previously suspected of insulting all Kalimantan residents. After being crowded, the secretary general of the National Movement to Guard Fatwa (GNPF) Ulama also straightened the context of the sentence "where the genie throws away children".
