Criminal And Customary Laws Continue To Be Voiced For Edy Mulyadi Who Calls Kalimantan The Place Of Genies Throwing Their Children

KAPUAS HULU - The Dayak Customary Council (DAD) of Kapuas Hulu Regency in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area of West Kalimantan has asked the police to process the law of Edy Mulyadi who is considered to have insulted the people on the island of Kalimantan. Edy Mulyadi said Kalimantan, as the location of the new state capital, was a place for genies to throw children away.

"We ask that Edy Mulyadi and his friends are immediately arrested and prosecuted under criminal law and customary law, because his remarks circulating on social media have insulted and demeaned the people of Kalimantan," said Head of DAD Kapuas Hulu, Antonius L Ain Pamero, when delivering the statement of position, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.

In this statement, DAD Kapuas Hulu strongly condemned Edy Mulyadi's remarks circulating on social media that mentioned various inappropriate things about the inhabitants of the island of Borneo.

Because of that, said Adia, the Kapuas Hulu Dayak Customary Council asked the police to process the law on Edy Mulyadi and his friends, who insulted the people of Kalimantan.

"What is clear is that we ask Edy Mulyadi and his friends to be arrested and processed by criminal law and customary law in Kalimantan," said Pamero.

Regarding the case that is currently in the spotlight, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police takes over the handling of all reports of alleged hate speech cases with reported Edy Mulyadi. Edy Mulyadi said that East Kalimantan, which is the nation's capital city (IKN), is a place for genies to throw away their children.

"The handling was withdrawn by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police," said Head of Public Information of the Public Relations Division of the Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Tuesday, January 25.

In general, Ramadhan continued, the National Police received three police reports (LP) related to the alleged hate speech. Two of them were received by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police and one at the East Kalimantan Police.

Then, there were also 16 complaints and 18 statements following Edy Mulyadi's statement. All of them were accepted by the Bareskrim and Polda ranks, namely Polda North Sulawesi and West Kalimantan.

With so many reports up to the statement of position, it was decided that the handling would be concentrated in the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

"There are three police reports, 16 complaints, and 18 statements of attitude were withdrawn at the Bareskrim and handled by the Bareskrim Polri," said Ramadhan.

Edy Mulyadi got the spotlight because of his statement. He said that East Kalimantan, which is the state capital (IKN), is a place for genies to dispose of children.

One of Edy Mulyadi's quotes that allegedly insulted East Kalimantan at his press conference read: "This is an elite place, owns a very expensive price, has its own building, then sold it, moved to a place where the genie throwing their children (new IKN)."
