Anies Launches Fortified Rice To Reduce Stunting Rates

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan launched FS Nutri Rice fortified rice which contains nutrients to reduce stunting (slow-growing) rates in Jakarta.

Anies appreciates the innovation of health rice containing vitamins and minerals that are affordable for the community as a result of the collaboration of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya (Alfamart) as a supporter of distribution to residents.

"We support all parties involved, whose efforts are in line with the National Priority Program for accelerating the reduction of stunting. This is because we have seen many examples of developed and developing societies, because the government has prepared the nutrition and nutrition that residents need," said Anies. quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.

Anies also mentioned that in preventing the problem of "stunting" and other nutritional deficiencies, the diet for prospective mothers and children at a young age is one of the crucial things to pay attention to.

So, with the presence of FS Nutri Rice, which is rich in vitamins and minerals, it is hoped that it can increase nutritional adequacy, especially for pregnant women and the younger generation in DKI Jakarta.

"In order to achieve this, the distribution of FS Nutri Rice rice needs to be carried out evenly and on time. In the future, collaboration between PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and the stakeholders involved needs to continue to accelerate the reduction of stunting, malnutrition, and anemia experienced by the community, especially Jakarta residents," said Anies.

Anies also hopes that this can at the same time be a new chapter and a solution for the people of Jakarta in helping to solve nutritional problems, especially stunting, and it is hoped that the distribution of this rice has a wide reach.

"So, from the nutritional point of view, we have maintained, as well as our traditions, the Indonesian people are also awake, because the majority eat rice. Hopefully, this product campaign will be wider, because rice cannot be viewed as the same, because there are different types, and differences in nutritional quality. BRIN has conducted research, the Food Station that produces it and the related SKPD supports informing the public of the existence of Nutri Rice," said Anies.

The launch of FS Nutri Rice fortified rice is one of the strategic actions and solutions to accelerate the reduction of stunting, malnutrition, and anemia for the people of DKI which is distributed through the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) scheme or Social Assistance, Smart Jakarta Card (KJP), Posyandu, Breakfast for Kindergarten-Elementary-SMP, as well as many other programs.

PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya has received the first order for 26,000 packs of FS Nutri Rice products. Furthermore, the people of DKI Jakarta can get FS Nutri Rice in 1-kilogram packaging at 2,000 Alfamart outlets spread across Greater Jakarta.
