JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination (booster) for the elderly and the second dose for children, which was held at the Community Center Building, Kota Baru, Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province.

As a written statement received from the Presidential Secretariat, on that occasion the Head of State hoped that the vaccination could protect the public from exposure to the corona virus.

"We hope that with the third vaccination, booster vaccination, then the second one, this will guard us all, so that we can do (prevent) the spread of COVID-19, the spread of the Delta variant, the spread of the Omicron variant," said President Jokowi as quoted by Antara, Tuesday. , January 25.

The Head of State said that apart from Bintan Regency, the vaccination program was also carried out in a number of locations in the Riau Archipelago Province.

"I came to Bintan Regency and I saw that not only vaccinations were carried out here, either the second vaccination, either the third booster vaccination, namely in Lingga Regency, Karimun Regency, Batam City, Natuna Regency, Anambas Islands Regency, and Tanjungpinang City. , said the President.

On this occasion, the Head of State appreciated and expressed his pride for the high percentage of vaccination achievements in the Riau Islands Province.

“I am very happy, very proud that in the Riau Islands Province the vaccination is very high. We hope that all people will be protected after getting vaccinated,” he said. In addition to observing, President Jokowi also greeted the vaccination participants in Natuna and Karimun districts via video conference. In the dialogue, the President reminded that even though vaccination achievements are already high, the acceleration of vaccination must continue to be carried out by involving various parties.

"I asked that even though the percentage was already high, I asked for help from the Kodim from the Polres to speed up the vaccination process so that everyone was protected from COVID. I really appreciate the already high vaccination percentage,” said the Head of State.
