GRESIK - Four workers at a company in Gresik Regency, East Java, were exposed to the corona virus that causes COVID-19, the Omicron variant.

"The four are from one company, and Alhamdulillah they are in good condition. Currently, they are self-isolating at home," said Head of the Gresik District Health Office, Mukhibatul Khusnah, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 25.

The four workers were detected as infected with Omicron in a mass COVID-19 examination conducted since Monday, January 24 on about 300 workers at a company in the Manyar District.

"Based on the travel history, there have been no trips abroad or to Bali. But because Surabaya already has cases of Omicron, the transmission is fast," said Mukhibatul.

He added that the workers affected by Omicron were aged 29 to 35 years and all experienced only mild symptoms.

Mukhibatul said that attacks of the SARS-CoV-2 variant of the Omicron variant of the corona virus generally cause mild symptoms such as fever, cough, and runny nose in people who have received the COVID-19 vaccination.

"It's like the common cold, so I ask people not to panic, especially people who have been vaccinated," he said.

"The healing process is also very fast. So people don't need to panic. Omicron and Delta are the same. Even Omicron has a faster recovery rate," he continued.
