KPK Explores Project Arrangements In Langkat Through 3 Suspects, Including Regent's Siblings Publish Plans

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is looking into project arrangements that led to the bribery of the inactive Langkat Regent.

This investigation was carried out by examining three witnesses who are now suspects. One of them who was also investigated was Terbit Plan's brother, Iskandar Warin Angin. The inspection was carried out on Monday, January 24 yesterday.

"The suspect UTI (Iskandar PA), suspect MSA (Marcos Surya Abadi), and suspect IS (Isfi Syahfitra) were each examined under their status as witnesses," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, January 25.

"The investigative team confirmed that the three were related to the alleged arrangement of various projects in the Langkat Regency Government by depositing money in the form of a fee to be then handed over to the TRP suspect," he added.

As previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the Langkat Regent Publishing a Plan for Warring Angin as a suspect in bribery related to infrastructure projects. This decision was made after the anti-corruption commission held an OTT on Tuesday, January 18.

He was named along with four other suspects, namely the Village Head of Balai Kasih who is the brother of Terbit Plan, Iskandar PA; and three private persons or contractors, namely Marcos Surya Abdi, Shuhandra Citra, and Isfi Syahfitra. Then as a bribe giver is Muara Warin Angin which is a private party or contractor.

In this case, the KPK suspects that Terbit made arrangements for the implementation of the infrastructure work project package in Langkat Regency.

In addition, he also ordered his subordinates to actively coordinate with his brother, Iskandar, who was his representative to select the contractors who won the work packages at the PUPR Service and the Education Office.

For their actions, Published together with other suspected bribe recipients were suspected of violating Article 12 letter (a) or Article 12 letter (b) or Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Muara as the provider was suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
