70 Independent District / City Level Bapaslon Participated In The KPU Verification

JAKARTA - The Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) determined 70 individual candidate pairs who passed the support verification in the 2020 Simultaneous Pilkada Advanced.

KPU commissioner Evi Novida Ginting Manik said that these 70 independent lane chaplones were allowed to register as candidates for regional head on September 4 to 6, 2020.

"There are 70 candidate pairs of candidates who meet the requirements. (Bapaslon) is at the regency / city level. At the provincial level there are no pairs of candidates who meet the requirements to register. So, there are no individual candidate pairs at the provincial level," said Evi, Tuesday, September 1st.

Evi explained, initially there were two individual chaplones at the provincial level, namely the candidate pairs for Governor and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra and North Kalimantan. Then there are 201 chaplones at the district / city level.

They have given up support and a spread of voters who will support them. During the administrative verification, a number of district / city chaplains have resigned. Then, the KPU proceeded to the factual verification stage of the 148 individual candidate documents.

"Meanwhile, 124 individual candidates have not met the requirements. 124 Bapaslon are still able to follow the repair period," he said.

Especially for 2 chameleons at the provincial level, it was stated that they did not meet the requirements for the minimum amount of support and distribution in factual verification.

Then, the KPU gave a repair time from 25 to 27 July 2020. However, the two chaplones did not do this. So that both were declared null and void.

Furthermore, at the end after the repair, the KPU obtained data that from the whole process from the initial process when submission, then it was verified that it was declared that they met the requirements. 23 candidate candidates would be candidates.

"Then, after the repair period there are 47 candidate pairs who are declared eligible. So, the total will be 70 individual candidate pairs," said Evi.
