Mukomuko Prepares 11.3 Tons Of Rice Stocks For Emergencies Or Natural Disasters

MUKOMUKO - The Food Security Agency of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, has guaranteed sufficient rice stock for victims of natural disasters or emergencies.

"Currently, we still have a stock of 11.3 tons of rice for emergencies such as natural disasters such as floods and house fires. This stock of rice is sufficient this year," said Head of the Mukomuko Regency Food Security Service, Eddy Aprianto in Mukomuko, Antara, Monday, January 24.

Eddy believes that the stock of 11.3 tons of rice is sufficient because the amount of rice used during the flood and house fires of local residents a few years earlier was 3-5 tons. In fact, a stock of dozens of tons of rice is sufficient for residents who are victims of natural disasters over the next few years.

He said the stock of 11.3 tons of rice was the remaining stock of food reserves in this area for victims of natural disasters the previous year. This year, the local government has re-allocated the APBD budget to buy as much as two tons of rice for residents.

The Mukomuko Regency Government is collaborating with the Bengkulu Logistics Agency (Bulog) to store rice stocks and use it in the event of floods and house fires in this area.

"We are working with Bulog and we can take the rice at any time if needed, one of which is when a natural disaster occurs in this area," he said.

According to him, so far, natural disasters such as floods and house fires that occur in this area are not too frequent, so it does not require a lot of rice for residents who are victims of these natural disasters.

He said, unless the natural disaster is massive and many local people who become victims of the natural disaster, it is likely not too much.
