Anticipating Omicron, Hundreds Of Central Java Police Personnel Undergo Swab Tests

SEMARANG - The Central Java Regional Police's Medical and Health Division (Biddokkes) conducted swab tests for hundreds of Central Java Regional Police personnel around the Central Java Police Headquarters lobby, Monday, January 24.

This activity was carried out as an early detection to anticipate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, especially the Omicron variant within the Central Java Regional Police.

"This (the swab test) was carried out only as an anticipatory measure, there is nothing to be afraid of. So far, about 200 personnel have not tested positive," said Dr. Hesty, via a short message received, Monday, January 24.

Dr. Hesty explained, if a member is found with a positive result, the treatment will also take into account the condition of the person concerned.

"If we find (positive members) we will monitor their health, if the symptoms are mild, we can do isoman at home with a separate room and obey the procedures. But if there are symptoms or have comorbidities, treatment is directed to Bhayangkara Hospital," he explained.

Regarding Omicron prevention activities within Polri members, the Central Java Police Chief through the Head of Humas Kombes Pol M Iqbal Alqudusy said the fitness condition of members was monitored at all times. The provision of booster vaccines to all members of the Central Java Police is also underway.

"The emphasis of the Regional Police Chief is that members in working in the community must be in a healthy condition. Before the community is healthy, the members on duty must be healthy first," he explained.

For this reason, sports activities and sunbathing in the morning are routinely carried out by all members of the Central Java Police, including in the implementation of the health program.

"To overcome the spread of the new variant of Omicron, the Central Java Police are also consistent in actively taking preventive measures both within the National Police and in the community," he explained.
