Commission II Of The DPR Ensures That The Schedule For The 2024 Simultaneous Election Is Decided Today

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR has confirmed that the schedule for the 2024 Simultaneous Election will be decided today in a working meeting with the government and election organizers, namely the KPU and Bawaslu.

"God willing, in the spirit of carrying out constitutional orders, especially the mandate that elections must be held every five years, Commission II, the KPU and the government will strive to reach a unanimous agreement on the stages and schedule of the 2024 General Election in today's working meeting," said the Deputy Chairman of Commission II. DPR Luqman Hakim told reporters, Monday, January 24.

The PKB politician reminded that the stages and schedule of the 2024 General Election are very important to be determined immediately. This, he said, was so that the parties could prepare thoroughly for the 2024 election.

Luqman assessed that certainty regarding the implementation of the 2024 General Election would also have a positive impact on efforts to recover the national economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Business actors and the investment world need political certainty because there have been growing issues and speculations about parties who want to thwart the 2024 election," he said.

For information, the working meeting with the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian and the KPU, Bawaslu, and DKPP commissioners is scheduled to take place at 13.00 WIB. The working meeting was held on a hybrid basis, with participants participating in real or virtual meeting rooms.
