BEKASI - The Bekasi City Government, West Java, is monitoring a number of modern retail stores to ensure the sale of cooking oil at one price according to the Ministry of Trade program.

"According to the Trade Minister's program, starting Wednesday, all regions will sell oil at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter at each modern retailer," said Head of the Bekasi City Trade and Industry Office, Tedi Hafni Tresnadi, in Bekasi, Antara, Thursday, January 20.

His party monitors a number of modern retailers in Bekasi City, such as Lotte Mart, Superindo Metropolitan Mall, and Bekasi Cyber Park Supermarket.

"I have also instructed the Disdagperin staff to monitor the sale of one-price cooking oil in modern shops," he said.

Tedi ensured that the availability of cooking oil in his area is safe until the end of this month, so that residents do not need to panic (panic buying) or buy in large quantities because it has been guaranteed by the central government.

"My observation was that there were still residents who felt panicked over the recent spike in cooking oil prices," he said.

According to government regulations, he said, every retailer that sells subsidized cooking oil has also limited the number of residents to buy a maximum of two liters to avoid buying up the wholesale system.

"People don't need to worry about running out of cooking oil at one price, every modern retailer in Bekasi City has been distributed. Don't panic buying, shop wisely as needed," he said.

He explained in the circular of the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia that it was not only modern retailers that would sell the cooking oil. Next week, one price of cooking oil is planned to enter traditional markets and then equalize the price according to the government's recommendation.

"The traditional market will adjust the price that has been determined so that there is no longer a high price for palm cooking oil that makes housewives restless," he said.
