TANGERANG - The trial of the Class IA Tangerang prison fire which killed 49 inmates was postponed. The trial will resume next week, January 25.

Member Judge, Elly Istianawati, said that the reason for the postponement was because the father-in-law of the chairman of the panel of judges had died.

"The trial was postponed because the panel of judges was unable to attend. His mother-in-law died in Palembang," said Member Judge Elly Istianawati in the Tangerang District Court, Tuesday, January 18.

Meanwhile, the defendant's attorney, Firmauli Silalahi said that the agenda for today's trial was to read out the charges. However, because the chairman of the panel of judges was unable to attend, it was postponed to next week.

"Today's trial is reading the indictment because there are obstacles the trial is postponed to next week. Next week it will still be.

Based on VOI observations at the Tangerang District Court, Tuesday, January 18, the trial, which was scheduled for 13.00 WIB, only started at 14.30 WIB.

Judge member 1, Elly Istianawati and judge member 2, Ismail were present at the trial, including Public Prosecutor (JPU) Adib Fachri Dili.

This trial was also attended by 4 defendants and the former Tangerang Class 1A Kalapas, Viktor Teguh Prihartono who also witnessed the trial.
