East Jakarta Wild Race Racers Will Have A Fast Race Arena In The Duren Sawit KBT Area

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya through the ranks of the Polres in Jakarta will set up a street race arena like the one that was held in Ancol, last Sunday, January 16. One of the locations that will be proposed in East Jakarta is the East Flood Canal (KBT) area of Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.

Head of East Jakarta Traffic Unit AKBP Edy Surasa said his party had submitted the location to the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya.

"However, the plan with Mr. Dirlantas (Director of Traffic at Polda Metro Jaya) wants to be surveyed first," said Edy to reporters, Tuesday, January 18.

Later the drag race track will be around 500-700 meters long.

"The width is about four to five meters, enough. But it depends on the team (review) later," he said.

Edy stated that his party has also coordinated with the East Jakarta City Government regarding the selection of street race locations.

"Coordination with the local government is also okay, welcome too. Already with the Transportation Agency (DKI Transportation Service), including from the KBT," he said.

Previously reported, the Director of Lantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that his party recorded 39 locations that were often used as illegal racing events throughout the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya.

With this street race activity, his party hopes that there will be no more residents disturbing the flow of traffic on public roads.

"So they have a platform, they no longer carry out races by closing roads. But we accommodate them to carry out races in places that we have determined," said Kombes Pol Sambodo to reporters, Sunday, January 16.
