Annoying The Public, The Kudus Police Confiscates Hundreds Of Brong Exhaust

KUDUS - The Kudus Police Traffic Unit, Central Java, raided hundreds of motorbikes that were wearing non-standard exhausts (brong) because the sound was disturbing and disturbing the community.

Kasatlantas Kudus Polres AKP Galuh Pandu Pandega said non-standard exhaust raids had been held since the last few months by round-the-clock raids and hunting in a number of areas in Kudus.

This raid is also a follow-up to public unrest regarding motorists using non-standard exhausts because their voices disturb the public.

In addition, the use of non-standard exhaust has violated the rules and disturbed the comfort and public order.

"This is also a follow-up to the orders from the Head of the Regional Police and the Dirlantas of Central Java to achieve zero non-standard exhaust for Central Java. So every day our members carry out 'mobile' and 'hunting' patrols, raiding two-wheeled vehicles with non-standard exhausts," he said.

When patrol officers find a vehicle that uses a Brong exhaust, they are asked to replace the exhaust according to the standard. In addition, the Brong exhaust that was previously used will be confiscated and destroyed. With this action, it is hoped that the community will be more comfortable and calm, and can reduce the number of accidents that may occur due to the use of Brong exhaust that violates the rules.

Previously, the Kudus Polres Satlantas also carried out socialization so as not to use non-standard exhausts, either through banners, visits to the motorbike community, workshops, to automotive shops," he added.

The rules that can take action against motorists with racing exhausts or not according to the manufacturer's standards are stated in the Traffic and Road Transport Law, Article 285 Paragraph 1.

Article 285 Paragraph 1 reads that every motorcyclist who does not meet the technical and road-worthy requirements such as mirrors, headlights, brake lights, horns, speed gauges, and exhausts will be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month or a fine of a maximum of IDR 250 thousand.
