JAKARTA - The Special Committee for the Draft Law on the State Capital (Pansus RUU IKN) found a number of problems related to land on the land for the future state capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan (Kaltim).
Chairman of the Special Committee for the IKN Bill, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, revealed that the findings were obtained when the team made a working visit to East Kalimantan. According to him, there are parties who seek to profit from the planned relocation of the capital city to the region.
"So we met land issues. Actually one side is clear but there are also those who are trying to play games, want to take advantage and all kinds of things," said Doli at the DPR Building, Monday, January 17.
Doli explained that from the meeting of the Special Committee for the IKN Bill with the local National Land Agency (BPN) regional office, there were no issues related to community or company disputes on the land.
However, said Doli, the Special Committee found a number of problems on the land. "For example, suddenly within 8 months, at the end of 2019, the satellite was completely empty, but within 8 months suddenly there were occupants," explained Doli.
In addition, he continued, there is a company that claims that they have received an assignment from the government to cultivate one million hectares of land in the area of the new capital city.
During the visit to East Kalimantan, the Special Committee for the IKN Bill also absorbed the aspirations of local community groups regarding the plan to move the state capital to East Kalimantan. Doli claims that the community supports the plan with various notes, one of which is asking to be involved and not be eliminated if the capital city has moved.
"Essentially they want the presence of this nation's capital city to encourage their progress, yes, to build infrastructure that they feel they are still not paying attention to," explained Doli.
