Kampung Susun Spinach Turns Out To Be Inhabited By JIS Workers, Head Of DKI DPRD: That's Deception

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government will build the Kampung Susun Bayam in the location of the former eviction of Kampung Bayam. Kampung Bayam is a former residential area for residents affected by the construction project of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta.

However, it turned out that the Kampung Susun Bayam was not established for the residents of Kampung Bayam, but was designated as a place to live for the JIS group of workers.

This was criticized by the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi. Prasetyo thinks that the DKI Provincial Government is deceiving the public, especially the residents of Kampung Bayam, whose current residence has been evicted.

"That's called cheating. Lying to the public. Let's just say that from the beginning the residents of Kampung Bayam were evicted. Also change the term Kampung Susun Spinach," said Prasetyo in his statement, Monday, January 17.

Prasetyo emphasized that the flats are a program of the DKI Provincial Government in the form of a community action plan (CAP). In fact, these flats were created to provide housing facilities based on the aspirations of residents whose land was affected to replace their old residences.

Therefore, Prasetyo admitted that he was surprised that Kampung Susun Bayam was realized as a place to live for outsiders who had never lived in Kampung Bayam.

"In the end, the Bayam Susun Village is for JIS supporting workers, what is CAP doing? Often the current provincial government programs are only good in words. But in reality, they are bad," he said.

Previously, JIS Project Manager of PT Jakarta Propertindo, Arry Wibowo, explained that the Kampung Susun Bayam residence which will be built near JIS is intended for workers who support stadium operations.

"The residential area that will be built on the former Kampung Bayam land will be used as housing for operational support workers. Anyone who meets the criteria for work, such as cleaning service, security, and others can be accommodated there," said Arry.

Meanwhile, regarding the fate of the residents of Kampung Bayam whose lands have been evicted, Arry said that his party had made compensation. Compensation for 640 families in Kampung Bayam has been carried out since August 2021.

"The budget plan has been completed as of August 2021. We carry out a house-to-house assessment. His status is owned or leased, how long has he lived there, what is his livelihood, it has been recorded. So, the replacement component for that has been calculated," he explained.
