Bowing Down, Ganjar Receives The Best National Zakat Management And Innovation Award

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo received an award from the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia as a Supporting Governor of the Indonesian Zakat Movement. Ganjar also managed to bring the Central Java Provincial Government to bring home two awards.

Two awards, namely Central Java as the province with the best zakat management coordination and Province/Regency/City with the best zakat collection innovation. Baznas also nominated Central Java in three other award categories.

The award was received directly by Governor Ganjar Pranoro at an event held at The Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Monday 17 January. Baznas became one of Ganjar's mainstays to solve various problems.

“I am happy because the management of Central Java Baznas is much more modern. The allocation is not only for charity or giving, but also for productive aids,” said Ganjar.

"This is the result of the hard work of Baznas friends and the Central Java Provincial Government who have been involved in giving alms and hopefully it doesn't stop here," he added.

Besides Ganjar, a number of regional heads in Central Java also received awards for supporting the Indonesian zakat movement. Namely Kendal Regency, Kudus Regency and Semarang City.

The collaboration between the Provincial Government and Central Java Baznas was built by Ganjar during his leadership period. Through Baznas, Ganjar solves various problems. One of them is in terms of community empowerment. This was revealed by Ganjar when he received the Chairman of the Indonesian National Baznas, Nur Ahmad.

“Central Java Baznas comrades have practiced empowering. For example, economic empowerment, then training and certification. In principle, in poverty alleviation, the role of Baznas is quite central, so if we can optimize the collaboration between the local government, provincial government, and also Baznas, I think it will be a good strength," he said.

One of Ganjar's efforts to collaborate with Central Java Baznas is to collect zakat from the State Civil Apparatus within the Central Java Provincial Government which was carried out during his leadership.

For information, throughout 2021 the collection of zakat for state civil servants (ASN) of the Central Java Provincial Government through the Amil Zakat Infaq and Sadaqah (Baznas) Central Java reached Rp. 57 billion.
