Rejang Lebong Health Office Sets Target, COVID Vaccination For Children Completed In 2 Weeks

REJANG LEBONG - The Health Office (Dinkes) of Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, targets the implementation of vaccination for children aged 6-11 years in the area to be completed in two weeks.

Head of the Rejang Health Service, Lebong Syahfawi, said the target for mass vaccination for children aged 6-11 years spread across 15 sub-districts in the region reached 27,053 people.

"We are targeting the implementation of the vaccination for children aged 6-11 years in Rejang Lebong Regency in the next two weeks, starting simultaneously on January 10," he said in Rejang Lebong, Antara, Thursday, January 13.

He explained that the vaccination of elementary school-aged children was carried out in public and private elementary schools and madrasas. The implementation is in collaboration with the local Education and Culture Office.

The Education and Culture Office of Rejang Lebong, he said, had made a special schedule and asked each school to facilitate vaccinations and infrastructure to support these activities.

"We have prepared a stock of the CoronaVac brand vaccine made by Bio Farma, which at this initial stage is as many as 20,000 doses, and when it is finished we will submit a request for additional stock to the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office," he said.

The achievement of COVID-19 vaccination for adolescents and adult community groups in Rejang Lebong Regency to date, he added, for the first dose has reached 75.40 percent or more than 164,000 people from the target of 217,861 people.

The second dose of vaccination has reached 45.48 percent or around 99,000 of the target.
