Judges Have Not Finished Deliberation, Brother Angelo's Sentencing Trial Is Postponed

DEPOK - The Depok District Court (PN) has postponed the verdict of the defendant in the case of sexual abuse of minors, Lukas Lucky Ngaingola alias Brother Angelo (47). The trial was postponed because the judge had not finished deliberation in determining the decision.

The trial, which was opened and open to the public, was held in Session Room 3 of the Depok District Court (PN) and chaired by Judge Ahmad Fadil and members of Judges Andi Musafir and Judge Fausi.

"For the time being, today's trial agenda (reading of the verdict) has been postponed. Because the Panel of Judges has not yet finished deliberation in determining the decision in this case. We will resume the trial next week, Thursday (20 January) still with the same trial agenda, namely the reading of the verdict. against the Defendant," continued Fadil, tapping the hammer to indicate the trial was closed, Thursday, January 13.

Previously, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) led by the General Criminal Section Head Arief Syafrianto with members of AB Ramadhan, stated in his indictment that the defendant Brother Angelo had been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing the criminal act of sexually abusing minors continuously by his guardian, child caretakers, educators as regulated in Article 82 Paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

"Issued a criminal sentence against the defendant Lukas Lucky Ngalngola alias Brother Angelo, with a prison sentence of 14 years deducted from the entire prison term that the defendant has served in this case, with an order that the defendant remains detained and a fine of one hundred million rupiahs with a subsidiary of three months in prison," said the Public Prosecutor. Not only that, the Public Prosecutor also demanded the defendant with an order that the defendant remain in custody.

"Stating that the evidence in the form of a blue angkot unit with plate number B 1072 UN, Order Number MHYESL4104J665166, Engine Number F10AID665166 along with the STNK and angkot ignition key, is returned to the rightful owner, namely witness Tarcisius Usnaat," said the Public Prosecutor.
