4 Defendants 470.7 Kg Of Shabu Sentenced To Death In Aceh

BANDA ACEH - The Banda Aceh District Court judges sentenced four defendants to death for shabu-shabu weighing more than 470.7 kilograms.

Banda Aceh District Court Public Relations Officer Sadri said the death sentence was read out at a trial with a panel of judges chaired by M Jamil at the Banda Aceh District Court, Tuesday, January 11.

The trial with the public prosecutor (JPU) Yudha from the Banda Aceh District Attorney. Meanwhile, the defendants attended the trial virtually because three of them were inmates at the Nusakambangan Prison, Central Java.

"The four defendants who were sentenced to death are Mohd Izuan bin Hamid, Alfian bin Ismail, Heri Gunawan bin Raswadi, and Agus Mizbkhuk Falevi," said Sadri.

The four defendants who were charged with separate files were proven guilty and legally convinced of violating Article 114 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 Paragraph (1) Law Number 35 Year 2009 regarding narcotics.

"The verdict of the panel of judges is the same as that of the public prosecutor. In the previous trial, the public prosecutor charged the defendants with the death penalty," said Sadri.

Previously, the public prosecutor charged the defendants with committing a crime of narcotics type methamphetamine weighing 470.7 kilograms at a coffee shop in the Lampaseh area, Banda Aceh City, on April 10, 2021.

The crime started when the defendant Mohd Izuan bin Hamid, who was serving his sentence at Cipinang Prison, Jakarta, was contacted by a person named Asoka, an African citizen.

Asoka, who is now on the DPO, offered the defendant Mohd Izuan a job to pick up methamphetamine in Aceh. Ashoka offered a salary of 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine per kilogram, or Rp. 25 million.

The defendant Mohd Izuan had refused, but finally accepted the offer. Furthermore, the defendant Mohd Izuan met Alfian bin Ismail at Cipinang Prison asking to find someone in Banda Aceh to take the drugs.

Then, the defendant Alfian bin Ismail met the defendant Heri Gunawan bin Raswadi at Cipinang Prison because he was from Banda Aceh to find someone who picked up the methamphetamine.

Subsequently, the defendant Heri Gunawan contacted the defendant Agus Mizbakhul Falevi bin M Amin Syafei to offer him a job to collect crystal methamphetamine. The defendant Agus was afraid, but finally accepted the offer.

The defendant Agus Agus Mizbakhul Falevi was finally arrested by the Bareskrim Polri team in the parking lot of a coffee shop in the Lampaseh area, Banda Aceh City, along with 470.7 kilograms of evidence of more than shabu.
