COVID-19 Update As Of January 12: 646 New Cases From Examination Of 273,806 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 273,806 specimens were examined with the result that there were 646 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,268,097 people and active cases have increased by 326 to 6,985 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, January 12.

Today's recovered cases increased by 314 cases, bringing the total to 4,116,962 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 8 people and the total was 144,150 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 412 cases and a total of 868,611 cases. Followed by West Java with 62 new cases with a total of 709,204 cases. Banten with 60 new cases and a total of 133,100 cases. Then, Central Java with 21 new cases and a total of 487,064 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 143 recovered cases. Followed by the Riau Islands with an additional 101 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 25 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 9 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 66,336,745.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.19 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 5,347 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 172,155,594 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 117,947,474 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 1,331,103. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
