Anies Gives Scholarships For 12 Children Of Medical Workers To Manage COVID-19 Who Died

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has distributed scholarships to children of health workers who have died handling COVID-19 patients.

Anies said that this scholarship was an appreciation and appreciation for medical personnel who were considered heroes and died while fighting during the pandemic.

"Children who are entrusted with us and entrusted with us, we feel they need to be able to achieve the future as expected by the deceased. Therefore, we provide scholarship support. Hopefully this can be utilized properly," said Anies at Balai DKI City, Central Jakarta, Thursday, 27 August.

Based on the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Number 739 of 2020, scholarships are distributed on watch basis through a DKI Bank account in the name of the recipient. Scholarships are disbursed every year, as long as the child is still in school.

There are as many as 12 recipients at the beginning of the academic year with 1 person at PAUD level, 2 people from SD level, 1 SMP level, 4 SMA level, and 4 from College level.

The details, PAUD scholarships are Rp. 6 million per year, elementary school Rp. 9 million per year, junior high school Rp. 12 million per year, high school Rp. 15 million per year, and college Rp. 20 million per year.

Anies advised the children who attended to stay enthusiastic in learning and be active in activities in class and outside the classroom. Then, Anies asked DKI Jakarta officials to work harder in handling COVID-19.

"Our brothers and sisters who are working in the most risky places must be fully supported personally and by their families. And this means that now those who are on duty, let us protect them together, so that all can return to their homes safely," concluded Anies.
