Held Feasibility Test For KPU-Bawaslu Candidates, DPR Just Awaiting Surpres

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR has scheduled the time for the implementation of the feasibility test for candidates for KPU-Bawaslu members for the 2022-2027 period in the second week of February 2022. However, the implementation of the feasibility test is still waiting for a presidential letter (Surpres).

"DPR Commission II is still waiting for the Presidential Letter (Surpres). However, we have given time, namely in the second week of February, when the Surpres comes in, a feasibility test will immediately be carried out," said Deputy Chairman of Commission II DPR RI, Saan Mustofa at the DPR Building, Tuesday, 11 January.

Furthermore, Saan explained, KPU-Bawaslu members for the 2017-2022 period will end their term of office in April 2022, while the DPR will enter a recess period on February 21. So he hopes that the Surpres can be sent immediately so that the feasibility test can be held before the recess period arrives.

"So we hope that before the closing of the Third Session Period, Commission II of the DPR has carried out a feasibility test to elect KPU-Bawaslu members for the 2022-2027 period," he explained.

The NasDem politician ensured that the due diligence would be carried out openly so that the public could follow suit, especially regarding the track records of candidates for election organizers.

In addition, said Saan, there are several benchmarks used by Commission II of the DPR in selecting candidates for KPU-Bawaslu members. This is an important note because the 2024 elections are expected to be complicated and have a high burden.

Therefore, according to him, election organizers are needed with electoral technical skills.

"Such as integrity which concerns the independence of election management institutions. The managerial and technical capabilities of the election must be owned by KPU-Bawaslu members for the 2022-2027 period," he concluded.

It is known that the selection team has submitted the names of the candidates for the KPU and Bawaslu RI for the 2022-2027 period to President Joko Widodo, Thursday, January 6.

Based on the decision of the Selection Team for Candidates for Members of the General Election Commission and Candidates for Members of the General Elections Supervisory Body for the term of 2022-2027 Number 358/TIMSEL/I/2022, 14 candidates for KPU members and 10 candidates for Bawaslu members were determined.

The fourteen candidates for KPU members are August Mellaz, Betty Epsilon Idroos, Dahliah, Hasyim Asy'ari, I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi, Idham Holik, Iffa Rosita, Iwan Rompo Banne, Mochammad Afifuddin, Muchamad Ali Safa'at, Parsadaan Harahap. , Viryan, Yessy Yatty Momongan, and Yulianto Sudrajat.

The ten candidates for Bawaslu are Aditya Perdana, Andi Tenri Sompa, Fritz Edward Siregar, Herwyn Jefler Hielsa Malonda, Lolly Suhenty, Mardiana Rusli, Puadi, Rahmat Bagja, Subair, and Totok Hariyono.
