PDIP Calls Risma And Gibran Eligible To Be Cagub DKI, Observer: The Capacity Is Still At The Regional Level

JAKARTA - Political communication observer at Esa Unggul University, M. Jamiluddin Ritonga, commented on the statement by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto who assessed Social Minister Tri Rismaharini and Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka as worthy candidates for governor of DKI Jakarta.

According to him, Hasto's assessment is still debatable. Because, during his time as mayor of Surabaya, Risma was only prominent in the construction of parks and main roads.

"Infrastructure development does not appear to be very prominent. The welfare of the community has also not increased significantly," said Jamiluddin in Jakarta, Monday, January 10.

While serving as Minister of Social Affairs, continued Jamiluddin, Risma has not had a prominent achievement. Instead, he said, what many people know is only angry behavior rather than performance.

"So what the public knows is only controversial Risma," he said.

Meanwhile, Gibran, Jamiluddin assesses, there is also no performance to be proud of. During his time as mayor of Solo, Gibran seemed to only run routine things.

"There has been no monumental breakthrough for the people of Solo," he explained.

Jamiluddin said that both of them did not seem to have a good vision to build Jakarta. In fact, Jakarta is inhabited by residents who are very critical and expect smart leaders who are ready to serve.

"Jakartans do not expect a temperamental leader. So, both Risma and Gibran do not seem worthy to lead Jakarta. Their capacity is still at the regional level," said Jamiluddin.

Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party had a large stock of quality cadres to be promoted as a candidate for the Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"There are quite a lot of candidate leaders, because of the regeneration process in party schools, they deserve to be nominated in Jakarta," said Hasto in his statement, Friday, January 7.

Hasto said the cadres included Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming, Mayor of Semarang Hendrar Prihadi, former Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas, former Ngawi Regent Budi Sulistyono, and Gianyar Regent I Made 'Agus' Mahayastra.

For Risma, Hasto said the former mayor of Surabaya has proven his leadership for two terms in the capital city of East Java. Risma is considered to have made significant changes, such as caring for the environment to city planning.

Meanwhile, Gibran is considered to still need to prove his leadership in Solo, as did Risma. Hasto said, Gibran asked Risma a lot for knowledge in leading Solo.

"Ms. Risma is one of the lecturers who conveys various strategic aspects about how to build a city to be more humane, so that every citizen works together with full awareness, beautifies the city, and then brings progress to every citizen," said Hasto.
