Sunarta Inaugurated As Deputy Attorney General

JAKARTA - Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin appointed Sunarta as Deputy Attorney General along with three other high-ranking officials of the Attorney General's Office at the 10th floor auditorium of the Kartika Adhyaksa Tower of the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta.

Sunarta's inauguration as Deputy Attorney General is based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 180/TPA of 2021 dated December 31, 2021. Sunarta was appointed by President Joko Widodo to replace Setia Untung Arimuladi who has entered retirement.

The other three high-ranking officials of the Attorney General's Office who were sworn in today are Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence Amir Yanto, Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah, and Deputy Attorney General Penagwasan Ali Mukartono.

During the inauguration ceremony and taking the oath of office, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said this transfer and promotion was a natural thing in the organizational cycle as a need for institutions to further optimize performance.

To the inaugurated officials, Burhanuddin advised, every task and position given is a trust that carries the consequences of trust and responsibility to be carried out with full sincerity, hard work, and sincerity.

According to him, a position and authority that is carried out should be intended as a field of charity service to do something the best, and provide great benefits for the life of society, nation and state.

"The submission and appointment of someone to occupy a top position within the Attorney General's Office is nothing but part of the effort to maintain the continuity and existence of the organization," said Burhanuddin as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 10.

Burhanuddin said the appointment was based on careful, measurable and objective considerations, taking into account various aspects, achievements, dedication, loyalty and integrity.

"I am sure that on your shoulders, there will be many records of gold ink and proud achievements, which will make our beloved Prosecutor's institution have a better image, maintain its dignity, and have a high level of public trust," said Burhanuddin.

As previously reported, Sunarta, who served as Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, was appointed Deputy Attorney General. Meanwhile, the position of JAMIntel will be replaced by Amir Yanto, who previously served as Deputy Attorney General for Supervision (JAMWas).

The position of Jamwas is filled by Ali Mukartono, who previously served as Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (JAMPidsus).

The position of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (JAM-Pidsus) is filled by Febrie Adriansyah, who previously served as Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office.

The appointment of Febrie as JAMPidsus was based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 181/TPA of 2021 dated December 31, 2021 concerning the Appointment of Middle High Executive Officers within the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia.

Febrie was previously known to have served as Director of Special Crime Investigations (JAMPidsus) at the Attorney General's Office, then was inaugurated as Kajati DKI Jakarta on July 29, 2021. Meanwhile, Head of the Indonesian Prosecutor's Commission (Komjak) Barita Simanjuntak assessed that Sunarta's election as Deputy Attorney General was the right choice. , because his career track and experience and competence have been tested technically and non-technically.

According to Barita, Sunarta had started his career from the bottom, having served as Kajari, assistant, Wakajati of South Sulawesi, Kajati of NTT, Kajati of West Java, Sesjamintel, JAMPidum and lastly served as JAMintel.

"With his technical and non-technical competencies, including his leadership type, we think he will be able to carry out his duties as Deputy Attorney General well and can assist the attorney general's duties," said Barita.
