Children Don't Accept Effendi's Grace In OTT, KPK: Makes It Up

JAKARTA - Plt. Spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Ali Fikri opened his voice over the statement of the son of the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi, Ade Puspitasari, who did not accept that his father was exposed to a red-handed operation (OTT).

Ade accused the KPK OTT of political content and character assassination of Rahmat Effendi or Pepen. Ali emphasized that the arrests were carried out in accordance with applicable legal procedures.

"KPK has documented in detail, both photos and videos of the arrest process, which is clear and very clear that the parties caught in the OTT are together with the evidence," said Ali to reporters, Sunday, January 9.

Ali asked all parties, including Ade Puspitasari, not to express opinions that are only based on his personal assumptions that are wrong or deliberately constructed. Because, it will only make noise in society.

"Such counterproductive remarks will only trigger public misunderstanding and create chaos in the law enforcement process that has complied with the principle," said Ali.

Furthermore, Ali stated that the handling of cases by the KPK was indiscriminate and not based on the socio-political background of the perpetrators.

"In the process of proof later, of course the Panel of Judges has absolute and independent authority to decide whether the parties are guilty or not," he said.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Rahmat Effendi or Pepen along with eight other people as suspects in the alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in the Bekasi City Government.

Then at the time of the inauguration of the Golkar Party sub-district administrators (PK) throughout Bekasi City, Ade Puspitasari admitted that he did not accept that Pepen was called OTT KPK netted. According to Ade, many witnesses saw that Pepen was arrested without holding any money.

"There are many witnesses, all of the staff at home are witnesses. How did Mr. Wali get picked up at home, how did Mr. Wali only bring the body. KPK only brought Mr. Wali's body, did not bring any money," said Ade on Saturday, January 8.

The chairman of the Bekasi Party Golkar DPD also accused his father's arrest of having political implications. In fact, he said there are parties who are eyeing the Golkar Party.

"The money that is in the KPK is money that comes out from a third party, from the head of the service, from the sub-district head, it's development, there is no OTT, indeed this is character assassination. Indeed, yellow is being targeted. We all know who is after yellow," he said.
