Megawati Sindir Akhyar Nasution In The Medan Pilkada: Not Given A Recommendation Of Anger

JAKARTA - The Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP, Megawati Soekarnoputri, stated that the decision to recommend Bobby Nasution as a candidate for mayor of Medan was the party's decision. Megawati emphasized that she had the prerogative as a party chairman.

Therefore, Megawati emphasized that there was no problem when the party decided not to support Akhyar Nasution in the Medan Pilwakot. Likewise, Akhyar's dismissal was considered appropriate.

"It is not approved, it is not recommended to continue to rampage. What do I think about this? He said a party cadre. Yes, what about the party rules, yes I fired. I fired. Yes, fair," said Megawati while giving a briefing at the event which was held online. on Wednesday, August 26th.

According to him, giving recommendations is purely his prerogative. This right, he said, was granted by the party through a congress some time ago.

"The party congress gave me the prerogative that was not what I wanted. The prerogative was on me. I want it to be revoked later at the congress," he said.

He further said that Akhyar could be angry with himself personally for not giving him a recommendation to go back forward. However, it must be remembered, that this should not be done because it was his decision as chairman.

In addition, Mega said that if any of his cadres were not given a recommendation to run again, it would mean failing to improve a region. "You should think that if you are given a recommendation, you think that I will take it for 10 years, but with actions and deeds to improve the area I have said how," he said.

"If you can't, don't be angry. It's not my doing. It's your own doing. So it hit yourself," he added.

He also denied any accusations of buying and selling recommendations within his party. This, said Megawati, may be asked directly to regional head candidates who are advancing from their party.

"If someone says that the general chairman sold your recommendation, I will summon it. Nothing. This is a party decision recommended by ketum," he said.

It is known, PDIP has again opened the Batch II Party School program for Regional Head Candidates which is conducted online. According to PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, this school was held as a form of PDIP's seriousness and readiness for the 2020 Pilkada.

There are 94 candidates for regional head who participated and this event was also attended by the candidate for mayor of Medan who is also the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) Bobby Nasution.
