JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri has finally succeeded in removing the cover of the hard water sprinkling case experienced by a senior KPK investigator, Novel Baswedan. However, the disclosure of the alleged perpetrator of Novel's attack has caused several irregularities and has not provided complete information certainty about this case.

One of the Novel Baswedan advocacy team members, Alghifari Aqsa, questioned the truth of the news that the perpetrator of the attack on KPK investigator Novel Baswedan had been arrested by the police. This is doubtful because there is also information that the two attackers surrendered to the police.

"The police must reveal the motive of the perpetrator suddenly surrendering himself, if it is not true that he was arrested. And it must also be ensured that the person concerned is not a person who is" installed "to cover up the perpetrator whose role is greater," Alghifari said in a written statement received by VOI on Friday. , December 27th.

Alghif considered that there were many odd things that needed to be explained by the police. One of them is the issuance of the Notification Letter on the Progress of Investigation Results (SP2HP) dated 23 December 2019 which states the perpetrator is not yet known. That means just four days before the disclosures are made public on December 27.

The difference in information must be clarified by the Police. This is because the police findings seem new and out of sync with what has been reported in the news, for example the face sketch of the perpetrator that has been issued by the Police.

"The discrepancy of information from the National Police who said the suspect was not yet known with the president's statement that there would be a suspect. This shows the way the Police work is not open and professional," he added.

Previously reported, Bareskrim Police Headquarters arrested the perpetrator of sprinkling hard water against Corruption Eradication Commission investigator Novel Baswedan, on Thursday, December 26 yesterday. Two of the perpetrators have been arrested by the police

"The perpetrator was two people, the initials RM and RB. (Members) of the National Police were active," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Listoyo Sigit Prabowo.

When this is traced for the first time, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police Headquarters has succeeded in exposing the perpetrator of sprinkling hard water to Novel Baswedan, after 2.5 years this case has been running.

Novel was attacked on April 11, 2017 while walking towards his residence, after performing the Fajr prayer at the Al Ihsan Mosque, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. As a result of the pouring of hard water, Novel's eyes were badly injured. He had eye surgery in Singapore.

Various attempts have been made before, but the police admitted that it was difficult to catch the perpetrator or mastermind behind the attack on Novel Baswedan. The National Police even formed a Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF) to reveal the perpetrators of the sprinkling of hard water.
