JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked all line ministries and non-ministerial government institutions (K/L) as well as local governments to improve public services so as to eliminate the negative characteristics of Indonesia's slow and complicated bureaucracy.
"We have to get rid of the stigma and perception of a slow and convoluted bureaucracy in serving the community," said the Vice President while chairing the Public Service Mall Socialization Meeting (MPP) at the Central Sulawesi Governor's Office, Antara, Friday, January 7.
Ma'ruf Amin said that one of the efforts to improve public services to the community in the regions is through the construction of MPPs in districts and cities. This has been strengthened by the Government through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 89 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Public Service Malls.
The development of MPP in the districts and cities, continued Ma'ruf, is also one of the efforts to accelerate bureaucratic reform in Indonesia.
Regarding the bureaucracy in the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government, Ma'ruf appealed to all levels of district and city governments in the province to add MPP.
"Central Sulawesi Province already has one MPP. My hope is to immediately develop and expand MPP in all districts and cities in Central Sulawesi Province," he said.
With the MPP, he said, bureaucratic services to the community became easier. MPP is a form of One Stop Integrated Service (PTSP), which integrates various types of public services from various agencies in one place.
Even in establishing MPP, he added, it is not necessary to build new buildings or buildings, but can take advantage of existing facilities in the district and city governments.
"You don't have to use a new building because it costs a lot, but you can optimize the existing facilities and infrastructure, with the support of digital technology," said Ma'ruf.
