JAKARTA - Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi or who is usually called Kang Pepen is still undergoing examination at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta after being caught in an arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday, January 5.

"Until now, the KPK team is still requesting clarification and information from those who have been detained," said Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Thursday, January 6.

From this clarification, the KPK has received a bright spot regarding the alleged corruption that occurred during the silent operation. Ali said, this OTT was related to bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as auctions at the Bekasi City Government.

However, he didn't want to go into further details. The reason is that the KPK still has time to determine the suspects and the construction of the alleged corruption that occurred.

"The information we have obtained is related to this arrest related to allegations of corruption in accepting promises or gifts for the procurement of goods and services as well as auctioning positions within the Bekasi City Government," he said.

"We will inform further developments," added Ali.

As previously reported, the KPK held an OTT in the Bekasi area, West Java. This silent operation was carried out at around 14.00 WIB.

Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission has 1x24 hours to determine the suspects from the parties involved in the operation and the construction of the alleged corruption.
