JAKARTA - The Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman has finished undergoing examination as a witness and reporter in a trial for alleged violations of the code of ethics of the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri. This ethical hearing questioned Firli who took a helicopter to return to his hometown.

The trial for alleged ethical violations was chaired by the Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean and two other members, namely Albertina Ho and Syamsuddin Haris.

"I have finished being questioned as a witness. Earlier, Mr. Tumpak as the chairman of the members was Mrs. Agustina and Mr. Syamsuddin. Mr. Firli myself, I am serious. But sometimes I try to reduce the seriousness of a joke," he told reporters at the ACLC building, Rasuna Said. , South Jakarta, Tuesday, August 25.

He did not elaborate on the trial. However, there were several questions that were asked by the KPK Supervisory Board regarding complaints regarding the use of helicopters.

Boyamin also said that he was confronted with Firli. He said he had asked Firli about the helicopter he used, whether it was rented and paid in full or got a discount. "Pak Firli has the responsibility to pay it himself and in full. Later, whether the payment is standard or not, it's Dewas's job, not mine," he said.

"So this is a fair trial and Mr. Firli was also given the opportunity to respond to my testimony," he added.

Boyamin further stated that in front of the KPK supervisory board, he also asked Firli to no longer serve as KPK chairman if he was later proven to have violated the code of ethics.

"I will also tell you that if this is later suspected of violating it, I ask Pak Firli to be the deputy chairman. The chairman will be replaced by someone else. I said that earlier," he said.

However, he said that Firli, who was also at the same location, did not respond to this request. "I asked Mr. Firli to not respond to this request. I asked the KPK Dewas not respond to him," he said.

Previously, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean said that KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri was scheduled to undergo an ethical hearing on August 25.

As an investigator, Firli was suspected of violating the code of ethics and code of conduct for Integrity in Article 4 paragraph 1 letter c or Article 4 paragraph 1 letter n or Article 4 paragraph 2 letter m and / or leadership in Article 8 paragraph 1 letter f KPK Supervisory Board Regulation Number 2 2020 year.

It is known that Firli was reported by the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) to the KPK Supervisory Board for using a luxury helicopter while traveling from Palembang to Baturaja, South Sumatra last June.

This trip was carried out by Firli with the aim of making a pilgrimage to the graves of his parents. According to MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman, the use of luxury helicopters with the PK-JTO code is unnecessary.

This is because the distance from Palembang to Baturaja is only four hours by car. Moreover, he said, the use of this helicopter violated the KPK's code of ethics.
