Six Defendants In The Asabri Corruption Case To Be Sentenced

The director of PT Jakarta Emiten Investor Relations was investigated in connection with the alleged corruption case in the management of PT Asabri (Persero) investment funds for the period 2012-2019/ Antara

JAKARTA - Six defendants in the alleged corruption case in the management of PT. The Social Insurance of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Indonesia (Asabri) Persero will undergo a verdict reading session on Tuesday, January 4 at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor).

Based on the schedule contained in the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) page of the Central Jakarta District Court, the six defendants had their trial at 10.00 WIB but until now at 12.00 WIB the trial had not yet started.

The six defendants who will serve the verdict, namely the first, the President Director of PT Asabri March 2016 - July 2020 Lt. Gen. Retired Sonny Widjaja was sentenced to 10 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Sonny Widjaja was also charged with paying a replacement money of Rp. 64.5 billion, which if not paid, his property would be confiscated and if not sufficient, he would be sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Second, the President Director of PT Asabri 2012 - March 2016 Major General Retired Adam Rachmat Damiri who was sentenced to 10 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Adam Rachmat Damiri was also required to pay a replacement money of Rp. 17.972 billion which if not paid his property would be confiscated and if it was not sufficient he would be sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.

Third, the Director of Investment and Finance of PT. Asabri 2012 - June 2014 Bachtiar Effendi was sentenced to 12 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Bachtiar Effendi was also required to pay a replacement money of Rp.453.783 million which if not paid his property will be confiscated and if it is not sufficient he will be sentenced to imprisonment for 6 years.

Fourth, the President Director of PT Eureka Prima Jakarta Tbk (LCGP) Lukman Purnomosidi was sentenced to 13 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Lukman Purnomosidi was also required to pay a replacement money of Rp. 1.341 trillion which if not paid his property will be confiscated and if not sufficient will be sentenced to imprisonment for 6.5 years.

Fifth, Director of Investment and Finance of PT Asabri July 2014 - August 2019 Hari Setianto was required to be sentenced to 14 years in prison plus a fine of IDR 750 million subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Hari Setianto was also demanded to pay a replacement money of Rp.873 million, if not paid, his property would be confiscated and if it was not sufficient, he would be sentenced to 7 years in prison.

Sixth, Director of PT Jakarta Emiten Investor Relations Jimmy Sutopo was required to be sentenced to 15 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 750 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Jimmy Sutopo was required to pay a replacement money of Rp. 314.8 billion, which if not paid his property would be confiscated and if it was not sufficient he would be sentenced to 7.5 years in prison.

Sonny Widjaja, Adam Rachmat Damiri, Bachtiar Effendi, Lukman Purnomosidi, Hari Setianto were charged with the first indictment, namely article 2 paragraph (1) or article 18 of Law no. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile Jimmy Sutopo was charged with corruption and money laundering, namely Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 18 of Law no. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code and the crime of money laundering from Article 3 of the Republic of Indonesia Law no. 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering.

There are still two other defendants in this case, namely the President Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Heru Hidayat who is being charged with the death penalty and a replacement money of IDR 12.434 trillion.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Hanson International Tbk. Benny Tjokrosaputro is still undergoing trial with the agenda of examining witnesses.

All of the actions of the defendants in this alleged corruption case are considered to have resulted in state losses of IDR 22.788 trillion from the management of PT Asabri (Persero) funds.
