CILACAP - The Cilacap Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) evacuated three victims of a traffic accident that occurred on Jalan Raya Maos Kidul, Cilacap Regency, Central Java. Two of them died.

"The evacuation was carried out after we received information from the Maos Police that at 12.00 WIB there was a traffic accident that resulted in three people being trapped by the body of a tanker truck carrying diesel fuel," said Head of the Cilacap Basarnas I Nyoman Sidakarya in a written statement received at Purwokerto, Antara, Monday, January 3.

After receiving this information, he said, his party immediately dispatched a team from the Cilacap Basarnas to the scene because the evacuation of three victims who were trapped in the truck's body required special handling.

According to him, the evacuation process took approximately one hour with the help of three cranes, an excavator, two fire engines, and an ambulance.

"We also prepared concrete or steel cutting tools and lifting bags to help lift the truck body. After the truck body was slightly lifted by two cranes, we immediately pulled and evacuated the two victims and taken them to Pricilia Hospital, Sampang, Cilacap," he said. .

Meanwhile, for the evacuation of the third victim who was squeezed and crushed by the front of the tank truck, he said, his party was assisted by two tall cranes to lift the front position of the truck so that the victim could be evacuated.

After successfully evacuating, he said, the third victim was immediately taken to Prisilia Hospital for help.

"Based on information from the hospital, two victims were declared dead, namely Sudiarti, a resident of Penisihan Village, Maos District, Cilacap, and Fajar Maghfuri, a resident of Jalan Manggis RT 03 RW 04, Menganti Village, Kesugihan District, Cilacap. the name is Suryati, a resident of Cindaga Village RT 03 RW 05, Kebasen District, Banyumas," he said.

Nyoman said that after the evacuation process for the three victims was completed, the SAR operation for traffic accidents with special handling was declared closed and the chronology of events and vehicle data were submitted entirely to the Cilacap Resort Police.

According to him, the SAR operation involved personnel from the Cilacap Basarnas, Maos Police, Maos Koramil, Cilacap Regency BPBD, PP Satpol, Fire Department, Pertamina TBBM Maos, MDMC, Pancasila Youth, IPCI, Maos Health Center, Prisilia Sampang Hospital, and other relevant agencies and assisted by local residents.

When contacted by telephone, the Head of the Traffic Unit of the Cilacap Police, AKP Ris Andrian Yudo Nugroho, said that based on the statements of a number of witnesses, the traffic accident occurred when the diesel tanker truck was traveling towards Sampang from Pertamina TBBM Maos.

"He (the driver, ed.) lost control, took the right direction. From the opposite direction there was a minibus and two motorbikes, finally the tanker truck overturned," he said.

As a result of the incident, he said, two motorcycle riders died because they were trapped by a tanker truck, while one other victim was seriously injured.

According to him, his party is still investigating the traffic accident case by collecting witness statements and evidence at the scene.

"Currently, we have detained the tanker truck driver at the Maos Police. We are still investigating whether he was sleepy, whether he avoided a motorbike, or overtook a vehicle," he said.

He said that currently his party is still focused on evacuating vehicles that block roads and cleaning roads affected by oil spills.
