JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Tjahjo Kumolo invited the state civil apparatus (ASN) to join the Reserve Component (Komcad). One of the goals is for ASN to be more disciplined and obedient to the government.
"Want to discipline ASN. Although it doesn't have to be like the TNI/Polri, but ASN must be disciplined, professional, obedient to the government, must understand the basics of the state, and so on. One of them (through the reserve component)," said Tjahjo at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday 3 January.
Previously, the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform issued a Circular Letter of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform No. 27/2021 concerning the Participation of ASN Employees as Reserve Components in Supporting National Defense Efforts. The circular was a follow-up between Tjahjo and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto some time ago.
In the SE, it is stated that ASN participating in the reserve component training will receive an allowance. Tjahjo said that the provision of pocket money to ASN who participated in the reserve component training was normal.
"Reporters are the same, one day making one news story with five news is different. Yes, it's the same, right. It's not a question of money, but so that bureaucratic reform is total, professional, adheres to principles, disciplines, health protocols, has national insight, and defends the country ," he explained.
The reserve component is a mandate of the National Resource Management Act for National Defense. Currently the law is being submitted for material review by the Constitutional Court (MK).
Regarding this, Tjahjo said that when the Constitutional Court issued a decision relating to the participation of ASN in the reserve component, it would evaluate it.
"If the Constitutional Court makes a decision, we will evaluate it. It is part of the Ministry of Defense program. This is part of discipline. ASN must be upright," he explained.
