NTB Police Stop Cases Of Alleged Fake Diplomas, Central Lombok Regent

MATARAM - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police has suspended the handling of the alleged fake diploma of the Regent of Central Lombok, Lalu Pathul Bari (LPB).

The Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the NTB Polda Kombes Hari Brata said the handling was stopped after the results of the examination of witnesses and no evidence of the crime.

"From the results of the case by examining the available evidence, it is stated that no elements were found that lead to unlawful acts. Therefore, the investigation was stopped," Hari said, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 3.

Strong consideration of handling the case was stopped, seeing the results of examinations from a number of experts. Starting from the study of academics to the ministry level.

"So it (the diploma) was indeed issued by University 45. The results of the laboratory test declared it valid. The Directorate General of Higher Education also stated that the diploma had been registered," he said.

Therefore, Hari ensured that his party did not find any evidence that led to the alleged fake diploma.

This case was initially included in the police report at the end of 2020. The report relates to allegations that LPB used a fake bachelor's diploma as administrative equipment during his candidacy in the 2020 Central Lombok Pilkada.
