PPKM Outside Java-Bali Extended Until January 17, More Regions Apply Level 1

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartato said PPKM outside Java and Bali was extended for two weeks until January 17, 2022.

He conveyed this after a limited meeting on the evaluation of PPKM led by President Joko Widodo at the State Palace.

"Especially outside Java-Bali there will be an extension, namely the implementation period, although the situation is entirely under control, it will be extended by 14 days, namely January 4 to January 17," Airlangga said in a virtual press conference, Monday, January 3.

In this PPKM extension, Airlangga revealed that more and more regions experienced a decline in the PPKM assessment level to Level 1. Regencies/cities that implemented PPKM Level 1 were 227 from the previous 191 regions.

"In terms of handling COVID, all of them are at Level 1, but there are still those related to vaccination which are still below 70 percent and the level depends on the response," said Airlangga. and 11 that apply Level 3 from the previous 26 regencies/cities. There are no regions that apply PPKM Level 4.

Furthermore, the government is also preparing a number of entry points for foreign travelers outside Java-Bali to their quarantine locations.

"Regarding the land gates, are those at the cross-border, namely Entikong and in West Kalimantan and East Kalimantan. Furthermore, those entering the sea include Batam, Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands, all of which are also prepared related to quarantine," he explained.
