Police Say The Man's Corpse Floating In The Pioneer River For Independence Has No Violent Injuries

JAKARTA - The Pulogadung Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) is still conducting an investigation regarding the discovery of a male body found floating in the Kali Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, near the Coca Cola intersection, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

"The identification results show that there are no signs of violence (on the victim's body)," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Pulogadung Police, AKP Heru, when contacted by VOI, Saturday, January 1.

Currently, the Pulogadung Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still conducting an investigation and examining the statements of witnesses to the incident.

"The victim did not carry an identity, still no identity. The victim is male," said Kanit.

When the evacuation process was carried out by East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officers, Kanit continued, the victim was thought to have died recently.

"It is estimated that it has only been one day (he died) and has not emitted a bad odor. There are no signs of violence on his body," said Kanit.

Previously, it was reported that an unidentified corpse was found dead floating in the Kali Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, near the Cocacola intersection, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

The discovery was first recognized by local residents. Then it was reported to the Pulogadung Police and forwarded to the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. for immediate evacuation.

"Residents saw the corpse floating in the river, then reported it to the police and then the police contacted the fire department for evacuation," said East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head Gatot Sulaeman to reporters, Saturday, December 1.

During identification, officers did not find any identification cards from the victim's body and clothes.

"When officers arrived at the scene, the victim's body was still floating in the river. The cause of death is not yet known. Police are investigating," he said.

Meanwhile, from the estimates of the officers who evacuated the victim's body, the victim is known to be around 37 years old with a height of about 170 cm.
