LAMPUNG - The Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov) is trying to use all COVID-19 vaccines in its area before the expiration period.

"We will try to deplete the vaccine stock until the end of its expiration date on December 31 at 21.00 WIB," said Head of the Lampung Provincial Health Office, Reihana in Bandarlampung as reported by Antara, Friday, December 31.

Based on the latest data, there are 8,950 doses of vaccine remaining in two regions. "Of the 15 districts and cities the stock of the COVID-19 vaccine has all been used and the latest data is only left in Central Lampung and South Lampung regencies, we will try to run it out before it expires," he said.

According to him, in the process of entering COVID-19 vaccination data into the Electronic Logistics Immunization Monitoring System (SMILE) application, there were problems which resulted in a large number of vaccines remaining in Lampung.

"Yesterday, district and city officials had problems when entering stock data into the SMILE application due to internet network problems, and many officers were accelerating vaccinations, so they didn't have time to collect data," he said.

He said the AstraZaneca and Pfizer vaccines, which were almost expired, had been sought to be used immediately.

"We have tried to accelerate vaccination with various schemes such as door to door to visit isolated areas, but indeed there are people who are still choosing the type of vaccine, so this also causes the remaining stock of vaccines at the district/city pharmacy installations," he said again. .
