JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa accompanied by Mrs. Hetty Andika Perkasa reviewed the COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years which was held at the Plebengan Elementary School, Sidomulyo Village, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region.

"We want to make sure the vaccination runs smoothly, everyone has tried, but the important thing is that we have a certain target, we will try to pursue it without forcing it," said Andika at the vaccine site, Bantul, Antara, Friday, December 31.

According to Andika, the enthusiasm of children to take part in the COVID-19 vaccination from the local government is very high. From the joint monitoring of the ranks to the Bambanglipuro area, Bantul has almost reached a thousand people.

"This morning alone, 881 children have been vaccinated from 1,000 doses of vaccine that have been prepared. This is all working together, both from the team of regents, the Health Service and volunteers," he said.

Andika said that his visit to the children's vaccination location was also to invite all parties and elements of society to jointly accelerate vaccination achievements, especially vaccination of elementary school age children.

"Essentially, we are together with all elements, the executive, the legislature, trying to increase vaccination outcomes, and this time children aged 6 to 11 years, because their susceptibility to the new Omicron variant is indeed higher," he said.

The TNI Commander said that the main thing in vaccinating was the local government through the Health Service and the ranks, while elements of the TNI and the police helped accelerate so that the target was achieved and herd immunity was immediately formed.

"This vaccine we only help, we are not in front, the regent is in front, the Health Service is in front, and this is a gang. The important thing is that we just do it, what the result is, it's not too important, because there are those who haven't had time, don't want to , we will follow it," he said.
