MAGELANG - The City Government of Magelang, Central Java, closed the Gunung Tidar Botanical Garden tourist attraction on New Year's Eve 2022.

Head of the Magelang City Environment Service, Otros Trianto, said the closure of the Gunung Tidar Botanical Garden was to avoid crowds to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He said the closure of Mount Tidar was carried out starting Friday, December 31 at 07.00 WIB until Saturday, January 1 2022 at 07.00 WIB.

Otros conveyed this closure in accordance with existing regulations. One of them is to avoid crowds on New Year's Eve.

"According to the regulations from the central government, on New Year's Eve, tourist attractions cannot be opened," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 30.

Otros said Mount Tidar was temporarily closed and Saturday was open and visitors still had to apply health protocols.

"We have socialized about this closure through existing social media and through announcements at this natural tourist location," he said.

According to him, this closure has also been socialized to residents, business actors, parking attendants and so on.
