JAKARTA - The South Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) has mapped a number of hotspots for crowds on New Year's Eve 2022.

South Jakarta Mayor Munjirin said there were at least three crowd-prone points in his area.

"So the clear points that get our attention are the places where we gather. Usually there are parks, then the usual ones in the area around Blok M, then Ayodya Park," Munjirin told reporters, Thursday, December 30.

Apart from Blok M and Ayodya Park, the Kemang area is also considered prone to crowds because there are many cafes and nightlife spots.

"Yes, it's the same (Kemang area)," he said.

Munjirin ensured that the ranks of the South Jakarta City Government, Satpol PP, South Jakarta Metro Police, and 0504/South Jakarta Kodim would monitor crowd-prone areas.

"We have coordinated with the Police Chief and the Dandim," he said.

However, Munjirin did not explain in detail the number of officers deployed to secure New Year's Eve 2022.

"We are basically a combination of us from the Satpol, but from the ASN we will also share the task of joining the ranks of the TNI and Polri," he said.
