"Three of them were arrested on the Ngawi Toll Road, East Java, while shipping from Jakarta to Surabaya City," said Nico, while chairing a press conference at the Surabaya Police Station, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 29.

Inspector General Nico said the dealers stopped at the Ngawi Toll Road, namely SM (26) and RR (22) both from Bandung, West Java; and AS (24) from Malang, East Java.

The other four dealers, said Nico, were arrested in Sidoarjo, East Java. Three of them were identified as residents of Sidoarjo, namely FE (24), HW (36) and CH (37), while AY (24) from Surabaya.

"Another dealer with the initials SY, 43 years old, a resident of Surabaya. When he was raided, it was discovered that his residence was functioning as a storage warehouse for shabu-shabu and ecstasy," he said.

Kapolda Nico confirmed that he would coordinate with the Prosecutor's Office to punish anyone who tries to distribute drugs in East Java.

"These traffickers have damaged the nation's generation. As I said, let alone the perpetrators, the police officers involved in drugs, I will take firm action and fire them," he asserted.

Of the eight perpetrators, the police also secured evidence of 31,082 ecstasy narcotics, 1 kilogram of ecstasy narcotic powder and 1.3 kilograms of marijuana.

"Police are still developing their investigation to find out if there are many other perpetrators involved," Nico said.
