Faced With Bad Weather, Ambon SAR Team Continues To Search For Missing Fishermen In The Waters Of Miran Village

MALUKU - The joint SAR team has yet to find a fisherman who reportedly lost contact while fishing alone in the waters of Miran Village (Gorom Island) East Seram Regency, Maluku.

"Now the team is still continuing the SAR operation to look for Burhanudin Kaisuku, even though the weather at sea is not friendly," said Head of the Ambon National Search and Rescue Agency's Search and Rescue Office, Mustari in Ambon, Antara, Wednesday, December 29.

The joint SAR team from the Ambon Kansar using the State SAR Ship 235 Abhimanyu and the East Seram Police Satpolairud using patrol boats XV - 1007 and assisted by three long boat units belonging to the community continued to search for victims.

During the search and rescue operation on Tuesday, December 28, a joint search and rescue team conducted searches at several coordinate locations.

"The sweeping continued until the afternoon and did not produce any results, so at 19:00 WIT WIT KN SAR Abhimanyu decided to temporarily stop the search due to bad weather," said Mustari.

Previously, the 51-year-old man wanted to go to sea on December 24, 2021 at 04.00 WIT around the waters of Miran Island, Gorom Island, East Seram Regency, but until the SAR operation was carried out the victim had not been found.

He also denied reports that Abdullah Pellu, a fisherman in South Buru Regency, had been found.

"We have confirmed to the family there and they claimed they had not received any information, then coordination was also carried out with the Namrole Hospital but the patient on behalf of Abdullah Pellu was not available," he said.
