JAKARTA - The suspect in the case of obstructing the investigation into the corruption case of the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) Didit Wijayanto Wijaya has sued the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office for the determination of the suspect and his detention.

Reported by Antara, Tuesday, December 28, based on the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) of the South Jakarta District Court monitored in Jakarta, Tuesday, the pretrial lawsuit on behalf of Didit Wijayanto Wijaya was registered with registration number 125/Pid.Pra/2021/PN.JKT. SEL dated December 15, 2021.

Didit Wijayanto Wijaya, who works as a lawyer, was named a suspect by the Jampidsus of the Attorney General's Office on November 30, 2021, for obstructing the investigation of the alleged corruption case in the implementation of national export financing by the LPEI in 2013-2019.

The suspect as an advocate/legal advisor acting on behalf of the attorney for seven witnesses who have been designated as suspects in advance on November 2, 2021.

Suspect Didit had influenced and taught the seven witnesses to refuse to give testimony as witnesses for reasons that were not accounted for in accordance with the provisions of the legislation. This action hampered the process of investigating cases of alleged corruption by LPEI.

He and seven other suspects were charged with Article 21 or Article 22 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.

Responding to the pretrial lawsuit, the Director of Investigations at the Attorney General's Office, Supardi, said it was a natural thing in a state of law.

"Yoo nothing, it's okay. That (pretrial) is the right of everyone who is made a suspect. No problem, it's a normal process," said Supardi.

Meanwhile, in the petitum of Didit's application, he questioned the investigation carried out by Jampidsus, the determination of the suspect and his detention. Didit also asked the pretrial judge to grant his claim and release himself and recover his name.
