DENPASAR - Two foreign nationals (foreigners) named Nicola from Italy and Gregory from England were arrested by the Denpasar Police, Bali. The two Caucasians in Bali carried out a robbery to steal billions of rupiah in Bitcoin.

Meanwhile, two of the perpetrators, Caucasians from Poland and Russia, are now on the wanted list for being involved in robbery.

This gang of criminals robbed an Italian couple (couple) Camilla Guadagnuolo and Principe Nerini.

"For losses other than cash, there is Bitcoin. So the total loss is IDR 5.8 billion," said Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan at the Denpasar Police Headquarters, Bali, Tuesday, December 28.

The robbery occurred in the early hours of Thursday 11 November at the villa where the victim was staying in Seminyak, Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali.

The victim's wife awoke to the sound of an explosion. At that time, she saw that her husband had been held captive by the perpetrators who wore black clothes, gloves and head coverings.

The victim's wife was pointed at with a knife. His hands and feet were tied and his mouth was taped. The perpetrator beat the victim several times.

Six of the victim's cellphones were taken, including cellphones with Bitcoin accounts. The perpetrator also asked for the victim's Bitcoin account password.

"(With threats) if not notified, the perpetrator will kill the victim's wife by sticking a knife to the victim's wife's neck. Then the victim gave the password for the cellphone," added Kombes Jansen.

During the confinement, the victim recognized the two perpetrators, namely Nicola and Gregory, from their voices. Nicola is a former employee of the victim, while Gregory was recognized by the victim because he had attended a party at the villa where Nicola was staying.

After the robbery, the victim checked her account and found out that the digital asset was transferred to the exodus wallet account belonging to the perpetrator Nicola with a total of IDR 5.8 billion.

"Upon this incident, the victim reported it to the Kuta Police. The modus operandi was that they entered the house in groups to threaten and commit violence against the victim and take the money," said Kombes Jansen.

From the victim's report, the police identified the perpetrator and arrested Nicola and Gregory. From the interrogation, Nicola admitted to robbery.

According to Nicola, the robbery was carried out because of hurt to the victim who was also his former boss. He was then assisted by his partner to carry out the robbery.

"For the motive, the goal is to take property from the victim. Two of his colleagues are still on the DPO, one from Poland and the other from Russia," said Kombes Jansen.
